The National Research Fund (FNR) finances, through RESCOM scientific events, communication support for the dissemination and exchange of scientific results. For the 2024 call, an important novelty is introduced: the deadline for submission is 1 February and scientific events may take place no earlier than 1 June.

Funding is granted for two types of events:

The Organisation of International Scientific Conferences in Luxembourg. They provide a platform for researchers and stakeholders to discuss the latest developments in their fields. They must bring together more than 100 researchers from more than five countries and be open to an international audience.

Organisation of conference series in Luxembourg. These lecture series provide an overview of current research and innovation, encourage interdisciplinary discussions and explore perspectives on emerging disciplines. They must include between 5 and 15 conferences per 12-month period and have an impact on research and society.

Public research institutions in Luxembourg and non-profit organisations approved by the Ministry of Research and Higher Education are eligible for this funding. The FNR promotes inclusiveness towards gender and ethnic diversity, as well as the participation of experts from different career stages.

All applications must be submitted through the NRF's online grant management system.
