On 4 July 2024, Luxinnovation presented its 2023 annual report at a press conference in the presence of Economy Minister Lex Delles. Board Chair Mario Grotz and CEO Sasha Baillie discussed the Agency’s initiatives and achievements to support the Luxembourg economy in the face of current global challenges.

Mario Grotz stressed the importance ofinnovation, digitalisation and sustainability as key pillars to ensure the long-term competitiveness of Luxembourg companies. Luxinnovation plays a key role in the country's twin digital and green transitions. In 2023, the Agency supported the digital transformation of the manufacturing sector and helped SMEs adopt digital solutions. It has been designated as the National Contact Point for the EU's Digital Europe programme, facilitating access for Luxembourg actors to funding for projects in intensive computing, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

Sasha Baillie explained that Luxinnovation is constantly adapting to meet the evolving needs of companies and research organisations. In 2023, the Agency coordinated pilot projects to reduce energy consumption and find decarbonisation solutions under the ‘Klimapakt fir Betriber’ initiative. A partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture aims to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of the agri-food value chain through innovation.

Luxinnovation also contributes to the development of security and defence capabilities in Europe and supports defence technologies in Luxembourg. The agency promotes gender equality through the ‘Women and Tech’ campaign and develops a support programme for high-potential scale-ups. An internal transformation process has been launched to improve the efficiency and agility of the agency, with a mission-oriented approach to manage complex and innovative projects aligned with government objectives.
