Driven by the objective of promoting the diverse career paths of female researchers in Luxembourg and encouraging young girls to embrace their passion for science, Research Luxembourg’s institutions have joined forces to launch a new season of the video series ‘Women & Girls in Science’, in partnership with the Ministry of Gender Equality and Diversity.
The campaign kicks off on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, with a video presentation of the six participants. In the coming month, new videos will be released every week until 8 March, International Women’s Day.
All these videos will be available on Research Luxembourg’s website and social networks, as well as on the University’s Facebook and LinkedIn profiles.
Entitled ‘Be brave – Women & Girls in Science 2024’,this series highlights different paths in science and research. Each of the six women presented represents an institution, scientific interests, careers and unique roles. Whether they are doctoral students, researchers or professors, these videos offer an overview of the diversity of career opportunities available in the scientific sector in Luxembourg.
Each video presents a captivating story, detailing the personal and professional journey of these researchers. They share their motivations and the messages they want to convey to girls interested in science.
The success of the first two seasons of the campaign testifies to its impact. Launched in 2022, these previous editions have garnered more than 550,000 views and generated many positive comments on social media. They helped highlight the achievements of women researchers in Luxembourg and inspire future generations to engage in scientific research, while helping to break gender stereotypes and foster a more inclusive scientific environment.
