On 16 January 2025, ADEM and the Digital Learning Hub organised their first Jobday dedicated to IT professions, bringing together more than 1,000 participants and 32 companies from various sectors in search of IT talent. This day allowed jobseekers, students from 42 Luxembourg and other candidates interested in the sector to meet recruiters directly.

Minister Claude Meisch welcomed this initiative, stressing the importance of training a skilled workforce to meet the challenges of the digital transformation. He highlighted Luxembourg’s efforts in digital education, from basic school to continuing education.

The Digital Learning Hub, launched in 2022, is now a key player in IT training with nearly 1,000 courses offered and more than 8,600 registrations. Its flagship school, 42 Luxembourg, currently has 258 students and is based on an innovative project-based and peer-to-peer learning model.

Despite strong growth in the IT business lines between 2015 and 2022, the market is experiencing a slowdown: vacant posts fell by 26% between 2022 and 2023, and a further decrease of 15% is estimated for 2024. The areas most affected are development, consulting, IT architecture and cybersecurity.

Georges Mischo, Minister of Labour, expressed his concern about this development, while these professions remain in tension. ADEM, in collaboration with experts, is seeking to better understand this trend and adapt its training offer, almost 30% of which is already digitally-related.
