Digital Inclusion is a non-profit organisation that aims to reduce disparities in access to IT equipment in Luxembourg by adopting a local and accessible distribution model. Founded in 2016, it collects and redistributes IT equipment to help low-income residents and refugees achieve digital independence, particularly highlighted by the pandemic.

In partnership with the government for IT recycling, Digital Inclusion encourages local businesses to donate their obsolete devices. These donations are then refurbished in a participatory workshop where computer maintenance skills are taught to job seekers and volunteers. A social media campaign values each donation, highlighting the ecological and social commitment of donor companies, such as BGL BNP Paribas, which recently donated 600 laptops.

The organisation distributes these devices free of charge via a public and fair waiting list, and also offers computer courses in several 10 languages and 3 levels of difficulty, to improve digital skills (of the beneficiaries and the general public. This inclusive and participatory approach promotes access to technology for all Luxembourgers.

With the increased digitalisation of society and rising inflation exacerbating the hardships of people in precarious situations, the demand for Digital Inclusion services has never been stronger, with each laptop being crucial. For example, in 2022, in the face of the war in Ukraine and the massive influx of refugees into Luxembourg, Digital Inclusion issued a call to action. This has resulted in the collection, refurbishment and distribution of more than 2,000 second-hand computers and 270 smartphones. Digital Inclusion's work was recognized by the IMS Sustainability Awards in the "People" category in 2022.
