In a context of rapid change in the labour market, marked by an increasing number of people lookingfor new professional opportunities, the Employment Development Agency (ADEM) has put in place an innovative solution: the JobBoard. This interactive online platform aims to publish job vacancies declared by Luxembourg companies, thus facilitating the meeting between employers and jobseekers, whether or not they are registered at ADEM.

The main objective of the JobBoard is to make job vacancies accessible to all, regardless of whether people are registered in ADEM or not. For registered jobseekers, the platform offers easy access to published offers and allows them to submit their CVs, thus increasing their chances of returning to employment. For those who are not registered in ADEM, the JobBoard also gives them the opportunity to consult job vacancies and apply directly to companies.

By allowing employers to publish their job vacancies and jobseekers to consult those vacancies and apply directly, the JobBoard promotes direct contact between the two parties. Employer contact information is visible, which facilitates communication and the recruitment process. For employers, the JobBoard offers the possibility to search directly among the profiles of candidates registered at ADEM, as well as to consult the CVs submitted by the candidates themselves. This makes it easier for employers to find candidates that match their specific needs.

ADEM’s JobBoard illustrates a good practice in digital job facilitation by setting up an interactive platform with intuitive navigation and clear functionalities for employers and jobseekers.

ADEM has also recently unveiled its new interactive dashboard called “JobInsights”.  Available on the websites of www.adem.lu and www.jobinsights.lu, this tool aims to inform various stakeholders such as the general public, journalists, experts, employers, jobseekers and training institutes about job opportunities and trends in occupations and skills. The scoreboard is fed by job vacancies identified by ADEM. According to Héloïse Hartman, research fellow at ADEM, JobInsights offers ‘easy and up-to-date access to essential information on each job and the skills required by employers’ to any interested person. We had the great pleasure of being able to welcome him to a webinar organised for our members for a live demonstration of the tool.

Various contents can be found in this interactive dashboard, such as:

  • Employment opportunities by sectors and occupations
  • Business indicators: growth, emergence, decline
  • Requirements: diplomas, experience, languages, skills
  • Detailed sheets for each trade

During the presentation of this new tool and the results of their study on IT professions, the Minister of Labour, Georges Mischo, stressed that the constant evolution of the labour market, in particular with technological advances, environmental concerns and societal changes, is creating new jobs, trends and challenges for job seekers. He highlighted the crucial role of ADEM in improving the transparency of the labour market, allowing jobseekers to seize new opportunities. He also stressed the importance of companies declaring vacancies to ADEM in order to achieve this objective.
