The EU Code Week, launched in 2013, emphasizes the significance of coding for developing computational thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and analytical skills, encouraging schools and teachers to promote digital literacy worldwide.

The 2023 edition of the EU Code Week took place from 7–22 October. EU Code Week is an annual volunteer-run initiative supported by the European Commission that aims to help children, youth, and adults use coding and programming to realise their ideas and to foster digital literacy and teamwork. Thousands of events were organised by schools, teachers, libraries, code clubs, businesses, and government agencies throughout Europe and beyond during the two weeks. The EU Code Week 2023 ended with more than 70,000 registered activities!
